The Ancient Forest

The Fenrir Wilds is the oldest continuously inhabited region of Argos. The giant trees predate the kingdoms around them. Some ruins beneath the forest floor predate even the wolf civilizations that built above them — which suggests something else lived here first.

Ancient wolf shrines exist throughout the Wilds. Noble packs maintain them formally, with ceremony and lineage record. Street wolves use them practically, as navigation markers, conflict resolution sites, and places where pack law is invoked without requiring a council.

Noble Packs & Street Wolves

The Fenrir Wilds has a split personality. Noble pack estates with formal traditions and political alliances — recognized borders, legal standing, representatives in Oblivion Fortress's advisory chamber — sit within miles of street wolf territory that runs entirely on dominance and survival.

Noble pack territories have formal borders recognized by Argos regional law. Street wolf territories have real borders enforced by violence and the memory of violence. Both sets of borders are taken seriously. Only one set is written down.

The Night Howls originated here before migrating to Death City's street level. The cultural export has traveled farther than the packs intended.

Alpha & the Wilds

Alpha's story during the Elysium Chronicles passes through the Wilds. He is recognized by both cultures and claimed by neither. His presence in the Crown during the main narrative is politically sensitive precisely because he fits neither noble nor street wolf categories.

Both communities will want to claim him. Both will be wrong.
