The Client Region

The Solaran Reach feeds Solaria and in doing so has become quietly dependent on Solaria's protection, currency policy, and institutional infrastructure. The regional governors understand that formal independence would mean losing access to Lumen Script infrastructure, Solarian trade agreements, and the Keeper's Guard's military umbrella. So they remain independent in name and compliant in practice.

Lumen Script rune infrastructure extends throughout the Reach — roads, bridges, and wells maintained by Solarian-trained engineers. The Reach is physically the most pleasant region on the continent. Reliable rainfall. The most consistently temperate weather. It feels like a place where nothing is wrong, which is partly the geography and partly the infrastructure.

House Arden in the Reach

House Arden maintains its ancestral estates here. The archivists' connection to suppressed truths gives them complicated relationships with regional governors who don't want those truths surfacing near Solaria's agricultural base.

Wandering Light-users quietly expelled from Solaria often end up in the Reach — too close to the city to be ignored and too far to be formally prosecuted. The regional governors handle these situations with the practiced discomfort of people who have been doing it for generations.
